Hey Hey!

Brie here to tell you all about what to look forward to this month! Anyone else shocked that it's NOVEMBER??? Yeah, me too. But we’re here and we’re ready to roll out some awesome things this holiday season.

Really quick, I want to make mention of the Pay It Forward Project we launched last month. If that phrase means nothing to you, let me catch you up! The Pay it Forward Project is an opportunity in which folks can purchase a meal, smoothie, juice, or hot beverage and hang it on our wall for someone else to utilize. I am happy to be writing that we have been blown away by the response from you, our customers, and your generosity. It has been amazing to see the direct impact that your kindness has on the lives of those in our community. I hope this generosity continues to grow not only in our space but across Tulsa and beyond. Cheers to being good humans!

Back to the updates! Let's get to it!

So, Thanksgiving, traditionally a meat-heavy day. Pretty much as far from plant-based as it comes. Well, in true Inheritance fashion, we are going to mix things up by offering traditional Thanksgiving food items made vegan. We’ve got a vegan loaf, sweet potato mash, green bean casserole, brussel sprouts, stuffing, mac n’ cheese, cheesecake, and more! If you’re interested in ordering any of these tasty dishes, here is what you’ll need to do:

  1. Pick up an order sheet or download one from here: inheritancejuicery.com/link-in-bio

  2. Drop it off with all your information filled out or email it to inheritancejuicery@gmail.com

  3. Pickup your items on the date and location you specified in your sheet! (payment will be expected at pickup)

How exciting is it that you’ll finally be able to enjoy all the Thanksgiving foods without compromising your plant-based lifestyle! We hope you are as excited to utilize this as we are to offer it!

Next up, Thanksgiving Day plans: do you have any? If not, please come join us for a plant-based three-course meal experience here at our downtown location! All it requires is that you make a reservation, put down a deposit, and show up at 1pm ready to feast. Visit  inheritancejuicery.com/link-in-bio or call us at 539-424-5394 to make your reservation! For any other questions, message us on instagram or call the shop. We are happy to clarify any remaining concerns.

And last thing for all you early bird shoppers out there; what better thing to give your loved ones than the gift of health? For every $50 put onto a gift card we will add $5. So come pick up a gift card and share in health with your friends and family this year.

I hope this information is helpful. Can't wait to see you all soon!

Introducing the December Giving Juice

Cold-pressed juice.jpg

We believe in the power of cold-pressed, organic, juice… so much, we can’t help but get it in as many hands as possible.

A new month means a new Giving Juice! Each month we offer a different juice for you to enjoy just for stopping in to visit us at Inheritance. We believe in the power of cold-pressed, organic, juice and all its benefits so much, we can’t help but get it in as many hands as possible.

For the month of December we will be offering Colden Driller. This is an all time favorite of the Inheritance team, with grapefruit, apple, lemon, and ginger. This is a perfect morning boost or anytime immune zinger!

Sure this juice is tasty, but it also has a ton of great benefits! Each ingredient plays a part in providing your body with natural energy and immune support, but the star of the show in this juice is the grapefruit. So let’s talk a little bit about the power of grapefruit for just a minute.

HEALTH BENEFITS OF GRAPEFRUIT

  1. Grapefruit provides high amounts of more than 15 essential vitamins and minerals.

  2. They boost the immune system by providing vitamins and minerals known for preventing infection.

  3. Grapefruit works to control your appetite and is great for aiding in weightloss.

  4. They can help prevent insulin resistance and even lower the risk of developing type 2 diabetes.

  5. They protect the heart by regulating blood pressure and cholesterol levels.

  6. Grapefruit is super high in antioxidants! Antioxidants prevent cell damage from free radicals in the body. Preventing cell damage means lowering risk of cancer and other illnesses.

  7. Grapefruit can actually reduce the risk of kidney stones through its high levels of citric acid.

  8. Due to their high water content, grapefruit is great for increasing hydration.

And remember, when you choose cold-pressed juice you are introducing live nutrients straight into your system, in a form that your body can assimilate more quickly and effectively. Quick nutrition. Lasting effects.

Have you tried Colden Driller yet? What did you think?

Happy National Coffee Day!

Happy National Coffee Day! For all the coffee lovers out there, this is just another reason to get that perfect cup of coffee to start the day. In honor of National Coffee Day, here is a brief history of the origin of coffee, as well as some fun facts to enhance your coffee knowledge.

Legend has it; coffee was discovered in the Ethiopian highlands by Kaldi the goat herder. It is said that he discovered coffee when he noticed that after eating berries from a certain tree, his goats became so energetic that they wouldn’t sleep at night.

Kaldi told the abbot of the local monastery what he was noticing, and the abbot then made a drink with the berries and realized it also kept him alert during his lengthy evening prayers. The abbot shared this news with the other monks at the monastery, and from there the word about the energizing effects of the berries began to spread.

As word spread east and reached the Arabian Peninsula, the Arabic people began to cultivate and trade coffee. They also began the tradition of public coffee consumption at “coffee houses” in cities across the Near East. The popularity of the coffee houses boomed, and people began to frequent them for all kinds of social activities from engaging in conversations to listening to music, watching performances and keeping current on the day’s news. The coffee houses became such an important meeting place that they were often referred to as “Schools of the Wise.”

From there, coffee spread across Europe and then to the United States, becoming the wildly popular drink that it is today. To this day Europe holds the record for largest import of coffee, with the United States being second. We love our coffee!

National Coffee Day falls on September 29 this year, but the day was first celebrated in Japan in 1983. Today the national holiday is celebrated as a way to promote fair trade coffee and raise awareness for the hard work of coffee farmers all over the world.

To celebrate let’s educate ourselves, shall we? Here are some fun facts about the most beloved drink in the world:

  • Fairtrade coffee costs more, but coffee farmers spend at least 25% of this Fairtrade Premium to enhance productivity and quality. Over the last 3 years, Fairtrade-certified coffee products have won 28 Great Taste Awards.

  • Brazil couldn’t afford to send its athletes to Los Angeles for the 1932 Olympics, so the government loaded them in a ship full of coffee which was sold on the way to finance their trip.

  • There is only one state, Hawaii, which is able to grow coffee. It has been producing coffee even before it was as state. (Only recently, though, farms in California started growing coffee bushes!)

  • Coffee is the world’s 2nd largest traded commodity. Crude oil is first. It’s worth is over $100 billion worldwide.

  • A French doctor in the 1600’s prescribed café au lait to his patients, inspiring people to add milk to coffee.

  • New Yorkers drink approximately 7 times more coffee than any other city in the U.S.

  • Coffee beans are actually the pit of a berry, making them a fruit seed.

  • The first webcam was introduced at the University of Cambridge to let students and staff know when the coffee pot was full.

  • The coffee houses in England were referred to as “penny universities” because for the price of a penny someone could purchase a cup of coffee and engage in informative conversation. Source

One of our most popular smoothies, and an OG around Inheritance, is our Coffee Lover smoothie! Cold brew is a favorite around here as well. Assuming you love coffee in cold forms as well, here are TWO coffee smoothie recipes to try at home!
