What's the Deal with Wheatgrass Shots [And Why Should I Be Taking Them]?

Maybe you have heard rumors about it, or have seen Adele cut off some to chew on, while being a guest on the Ellen show (If you haven’t, get ready for a laugh!). Maybe you haven’t heard of this miracle grass at all! In either case, there are some amazing benefits to adding wheatgrass into your health regimen. One of the simplest ways to do so and maintain the most nutrition is through organic, cold-pressed juice shot.

Here are some benefits of wheatgrass shots:

  • Wheatgrass has a POWERFUL combination of vitamins and minerals like iron, calcium, enzymes, magnesium, phytonutrients (superpower), 17 amino acids, vitamins A, C, E, K, & B, chlorophyll (hello glowing skin!), and proteins.

  • Wheatgrass has antioxidant, antibacterial, and anti-inflammatory affects.

  • Those enzymes we mentioned help your body through the digestion process, actually cleaning your intestines.

  • Wheatgrass is known to lower cholesterol.

  • Wheatgrass can enhance your immune system by fighting infection and disease and helping you recover faster.

  • The chlorophyll in wheatgrass actually increases your blood cell count, which can help normalize blood pressure as well as purifying the blood and improving blood circulation.

  • Wheatgrass can improve overall mental function, preventing memory loss and improving hand-eye coordination, and even relieve anxiety.

  • Wheatgrass has compounds that have an effect similar to insulin, working to lower the glycemic index of foods and having a positive effect in blood sugar levels.

  • Because wheatgrass has anti-inflammatory properties, it can ease the symptoms of arthritis such as stiffness, pain, and swelling.

It’s plain to see, wheatgrass may be just what you need! Try a wheatgrass shot today and start on the path to better health and wellness. When you feel good, you do good.

Sure this juice is tasty, but it also has a ton of great benefits! Each ingredient plays a part in providing your body with natural energy and immune support, but the star of the show in this juice is the grapefruit. So let’s talk a little bit about the power of grapefruit for just a minute.

HEALTH BENEFITS OF GRAPEFRUIT

  1. Grapefruit provides high amounts of more than 15 essential vitamins and minerals.

  2. They boost the immune system by providing vitamins and minerals known for preventing infection.

  3. Grapefruit works to control your appetite and is great for aiding in weightloss.

  8. Due to their high water content, grapefruit is great for increasing hydration.

And remember, when you choose cold-pressed juice you are introducing live nutrients straight into your system, in a form that your body can assimilate more quickly and effectively. Quick nutrition. Lasting effects.

Kristina's 5-day Juice Cleanse

IMG_1085.jpg

Hello everyone!  I’m Kristina!  While I am new to the whole juicing culture, I am very health and nutrition conscious.  I recently completed a five-day cleanse because I was curious as to what all the talk was about.  I was interested to see how my body would react to not eating solid foods for so long, when I am a SNACKER.

The first day of my cleanse was the hardest.  I drank my first two juices within an hour and was starving.  The hunger started to dull as the day continued and it became easier not to focus on the fact that I was not eating solid foods.  I could feel the change in my stomach as well.  Overall, the first day was more difficult than I thought it would be.

The second and third days were a lot easier for me.  I felt like I had more energy than day one and felt ready to accomplish all the things I needed to do.  The cravings for food were mostly gone and I was able to focus solely on the juices.  The only issue I ran into was remembering to drink water.  Drinking all that juice made it hard to remember that water was extremely important to keep up with.  I had to start keeping a glass right next to my juice so I would switch between the two.

The last two days were good and bad.  I watched the people around me constantly eating food that smelled amazing, so it was hard to not be able to eat.  I was also extremely busy with work those days, so it was hard to drink all the juice.  I started to feel full in the evenings as well, so I had a juice or two leftover that I wasn’t able to finish.  It made for a nice snack the next morning though!

Overall, the juice cleanse was an eye-opening experience for me.  I started eating less snacks throughout the day afterwards and felt full quicker than I had previously.  I also lost five pounds, which was not something I had set out to do.  I have been watching the refined sugars that I eat as well and trying to find natural sugars now when I have a craving.  I think everyone should do a cleanse if they have the chance.  It truly does make a huge difference in your wellbeing!

Mixing things up for Downtown!

Inheritance Juicery Downtown

Meet Kristina

Our new Marketing Mixologist

We are happy to introduce you to the newest addition of the Inheritance leadership team, Kristina Delvallee. She is coming onboard to be the bar manager as well as our marketing director for our downtown location. We are so happy to have her joining us in our mission to Plant Love and Give Juice. Here is a little Q&A we had with Kristina to let you know a little more about her!

Q: What was your first paying job?

My first paying job was a paper route when I was 8yo.  I had a two-block radius for my route and made ten cents per paper I delivered.

Q: Who inspires you?

I am inspired by my friend Patti.  She is one of the sweetest and most genuine people I have ever met.  She does everything she can for other people, without wanting a single thing in return.  She also does a lot with stray animals around Tulsa.  She feeds several colonies of feral cats and pays out of her own pocket to have them all spayed or neutered.  She is truly inspiring, and I am proud to call her my friend.

Q: What kind of music do you like?

I enjoy most kinds of music; however, I find myself listening to French pop often.  I love it because it is so different than American pop and I adore the French language.

Q: What’s the best concert you’ve been to?

I have never been big on going to concerts.  I do not enjoy being packed around that many people.

Q: What’s the best place you’ve traveled to?

The best place I have ever traveled to is Cascais, Portugal.  I went there to run a half marathon.  The race was along the beach, which allowed me to see more of the country than I would have otherwise.  The weather in Portugal was perfect the entire time I was there, and the people were extremely friendly.  I cannot wait to go back after the pandemic.

Q: What’s your most-used productivity hack?

I love to use lists.  I have found that lists help me understand exactly what I need to do and what items overlap each other.  I use lists at work and at home.  I get joy from crossing items off it.

Q: What’s something you’re proud of?

I am proud of the life I have created for myself.  I have worked extremely hard to get where I am, and it brings me joy.

Q: Do you have any hidden talents or hobbies?

I love languages.  I speak English, French, Spanish, and some Japanese.  My goal is to speak five languages fluently by the time I am thirty.

Q: Do you have any pets?

I have an amazing lab mix named Gaia.  She is the first dog I have ever had, and she has taught me to be more patient than I ever thought I could be.  She has a ton of energy and is super sweet.  I also have five cats: Yuki, Val, Patchino, Carrot, and Paul.  I rescue cats and ended up loving these five so much that I ended up keeping them.  All my animals get along with each other, so it never seems like there are that many in the house.

Q: What’s one thing you’re really bad at?

I cannot snap for the life of me.  For some reason, I never learned how to do it properly and every time someone finds that out, they start snapping around me.

Q: What’s one thing you’re really good at?

I am good at sudoku puzzles.  I really like playing them and do at least a puzzle a day.

Q: What show are you currently binge-watching?

I am currently binge-watching Law & Order: SVU.

Q: When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?

When I was a kid, I wanted to be a teacher when I grew up.  I ended up teaching for Tulsa Public Schools for a few school years, so I accomplished my dream.

Q: What’s your favorite season?

My favorite season is winter.   I love snow and the cold weather.  Unfortunately, living in Oklahoma, I am not able to see that as often as I would like.

Q: What’s your idea of a perfect day?

My idea of the perfect day is taking my dog to a park and having a picnic.  She would be able to run around while I sat there eating and enjoying the weather and scenery.
