Meet Kathryn

Our new Head Chef

We are happy to introduce you to the newest addition of the Inheritance leadership team, Kathryn Thomasson. She is bringing all of her experience to our new kitchen downtown to bring a menu that is all organic, plant-based, and delicious! Here is a little Q&A we had with Kathryn to let you know a little more about her!

Q: What is your job title?

Head Chef.

Q: What sort of duties do you have at work?

Creating unique, beautiful, healthy food that tastes good too.

Q: What was your first paying job?

Ice cream shop – had to sing for tips!

Q: What kind of music do you like?

Rock-n-Roll, Classic rock, classic country, blues, jazz, funk, hiphop— anything but new country or Taylor Swift.

Q: What’s the best concert you’ve been to?

The Foo Fighters.

Q: What’s the best place you’ve traveled to?

New Orleans (not the “best” but I fell in love with the city)

Q: What’s your most-used productivity hack?

Steaming my wrinkle prone shirts in the dryer with an ice cube.

Q: What’s something you’re proud of?

Despite it all, I’m doing what I love the most for a living, through working my butt off and growing confident in myself and learning how to fail and keep moving forward no matter what.

Q: Do you have any hidden talents or hobbies?

I like to play tennis, garden, read, listen to music, listen to podcasts (usually comedy or true crime...there is no in between).

Q: Do you have any pets?

I have a dog named Bunny and a cat named Hamburger.

Q: What’s one thing you’re really bad at?

Interrupting.

Q: What’s one thing you’re really good at?

Making Soups and sauces.

Q: What show are you currently binge-watching?

There’s a 75% chance The Office is playing in the background at home.

Q: When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?

Writer, Chef, Marine Biologist, Criminal Psychologist (not as a kid, but older days).

Q: Which historical figure would you most like to meet?

Rosa Parks, Anne Frank, Ella Fitzgerald, Julia Child, Susan B. Anthony.

Q: What’s your favorite season?

Spring.

Q: What three items would you take with you to a deserted island?

Copy of Stephen King’s IT, endless home made pasta and red sauce, brie cheese.

Q: What’s your idea of a perfect day?

Waking up rested, drinking as much coffee as I want, doing yoga, walking my dog, eating a good breakfast I didn’t have to cook, going on a hike somewhere I’ve never been before, picnic, nap, homemade dinner and wine, and then going to bed before midnight.
